Larkin Square will again be abuzz with a signature winter event set to pick up where the summer left off ? the inaugural Holiday Live at Larkin presented by First Niagara, a free outdoor celebration on Friday, December 7th, from 4:30-8pm.
Dress warm for festive fun ? rain, shine or snow, all ages welcome ? centered under the Larkin Square boardwalk, which will offer supplemental heating and a headlining performance by Robot Holiday Live, a collective of nearly 20 Buffalo musicians making original, nontraditional holiday music. Celebrating a decade of collaboration and building on the past two years of December concerts that have raised nearly $4,000 for the Food Bank of Western New York, Robot Holiday will have for sale a ?Best Of? compilation album, featuring new classics such as ?Hard Times for an Elf,? ?I?ve Been a Good Girl,? and ?Snow Day.? CDs will be sold at the event for $10 with all proceeds donated to the Food Bank, thanks to underwriting from First Niagara. An opening acoustic set will be performed by the Larkinville Players.
Larkin Square food and drink favorites The Filling Station, The Grill, and Square 1 Sandwiches will feature seasonal specialty offerings such as chili and soup, ?adult? hot chocolate and cider, mulled wine, and winter craft beers. A percentage of all food and drink sales, along with those of vendors in the Larkin Square Marketplace will further support the Food Bank.
?We?re excited to carry over our summer of fun in Larkin Square with a signature event full of winter touches,? said Larkin Square Director of Fun Leslie Zemsky. ?Robot Holiday?s unique and charitable collaboration is perfect for our setting, and we?re grateful for their generosity as well as that of First Niagara.?
