Making Money Off Other Sites With Successful Internet Marketing ...

There is a chance that one?s business can skyrocket into a world of fame and fortune, but it is more likely for a business to remain small. Unfortunately, most businesses will fail. It?s tough to start and operate a business and that is no different than starting one online. Read on to discover how to avoid a failing business, and implement some Internet marketing tips.

Be sure to have customer reviews and testimonials included on your site. Readers like to read what customers like them think about the product. This produces a sense of comfort for your customer, and ordering your product is more likely.

To make a great impression for first-time customers, think about offering a $1 sale or other promotion just for new clients. This helps with promotion, builds exposure and encourages new traffic to your site. Once you get people interested in a discounted item, make sure you offer them shopping suggestions and encourage them to order more products. Always have total confidence in the products that you sell!

When you are first setting up your Internet marketing business, don?t forget to set up advertising accounts. Advertising can greatly increase the profits of your business. This is a great tool to reach customers who may not have found you otherwise.

Look at Internet marketing as something fun and not something that is a job or big chore. It may turn into a career in the long run, but you need to begin by looking at it as something fun and exciting.

Assuring your customers that your website is secure will bring you more business. Most people worry about allow access to their personal information on the internet, so minimize their fear by letting them know their information is safe.

For creating high traffic and great SEO, always make sure you are carrying unique, original content all the time. Unique content will set you apart from your competitors. Write unique product descriptions incorporating keywords to make your site stand out.

It is important to send a follow up email to your customers. Ask them to do a survey or provide a review about their experience with you.

Direct marketing is complementary to any Internet marketing campaign. You can impart information regarding promotions and services to your customers via phone, email and fax. This will allow you to reach customers locally and globally.

If your target audience is full of people who are into giving to charity, you should direct a portion of your proceeds to a charity. Make it clear to potential customers that part of the profits are going to charity. The percentage of profit you give up need not be a big one to produce impressive marketing benefits.

Blogging is a great adjunct to any internet marketing business. A blog gives you another way to communicate with your customer base. Having a blog also makes your site larger, which gives search engines more material to index and should thus bring you more traffic.

You website can be a hub divided into different sections where people can view various types of products. You should always keep your website structured no matter how different your content is.

Promote your product with positive motivation. Emphasize on the benefits that your product will provide to your visitors. Point out what accomplishments they can achieve when they buy your product. If you are encouraging and positive about your audience being able to accomplish their goals, then they will be too.

Find ways to allow customers to interact with each other on your website. This can help your customers feel like part of a group and more at ease because they can easily get in touch with you and others. As Facebook and Twitter prove, most people love the social aspect of the Internet. If you can add some social context to your business, people will want to drop by.

Two key words that you should keep in mind while marketing are ?easy? and ?simple?. These words will put your customers at ease, as most people do not enjoy products that are difficult to use or put together. Keep things easy for your customers to retain their business.

Using ?guarantee? when you are marketing is a great idea. Customers like to feel that they have made a good decision. The only limit to what you can guarantee is what you decide it to be. You can try a 90 day guarantee or a lifetime guarantee. The guarantee you choose to offer should be based off the type of product it applies to.

Encourage customers to refer your site and offer them incentives for doing so. Cultivate more referrals from existing customers by offering a discount or freebie for each new patron they bring to you. People love getting free stuff and you can get more sales with higher traffic.

Offering a subscription service is a great way to build relationships with customers who are interested in your product. As an example, computer paper buyers might enter a subscription service to receive paper every month.

You can develop your website to look and feel more like a social gathering or club than a business website. You will get more traffic if you offer a way for your customers can talk to each other. This is an excellent way to keep people thinking about your website. Providing free graphics for people to use on their own websites will increase your visibility and give you free advertising.

The only upside to online business failure is that it opens the door for you. Use these tips to do your best with Internet marketing.

Advertising methods change from company to company and also differ inside same firm. Independent promoters can cultivate diverse advertising strategies even though they are selling exactly the same basic opportunity or even item. Online Business Systems could be a prime example with this method.

How to Plan Early Retirement at 50 | Getmoneyrich.com

I personally would like to retire by the time I am 50 years of age. But in order to do this I should build a source of passive which will continue to flow-in even though I have opted for voluntary retirement. But before I will be 60, I will not get the benefits of senior citizen, so I will have to manage both my income and tax liability. I must comment that planning retirement at 50 is not easy for a common man, but it is possible if we plan early in our life. No I am approximately 30 and I have almost 14 years in my sleeves. I will have my savings in provident fund available with me at 50 but for sure this will not provide sufficient passive income to lead a financially independent life. So a different strategy is required to plan early retirement at 50.

The beauty of finalizing a strategy for early retirement at 50 is that the solution is very simple. Just keep yourself sufficiently motivated to save more and more. The income you are making each month from your job should planned in such a way that needless spending is minimized. Idea is to save more and more. Why I say that this strategy is simple because this is totally in your control. The only this required to increase your savings is careful planning. The difficult part of this savings to keep it going year after year till you achieve financial independence.

The next step after ensuring that saving is flowing-in, is to invest intelligently your hard-saved money. Yes investment of money is essential. If you are only savings it is not sufficient. In order to effect premature retirement at 50, you must take advantage of compounding of money. The compounding of money is only possible if you give your money the power to multiply/grow. Technically speaking if your savings is yielding either (1) interest income, (2) dividend income, (3) capital appreciation or (4) rental income; only then you will benefit from power of compounding.

Let us take an example to understand the power of compounding. I need to build a investment portfolio of Rs 1.0 crore by the time I am 50 years of age. In order to achieve this target of building Rs 1.0 crore portfolio, I need to save Rs 41,700 each month for next 20 years. Now consider this, if I am investing intelligently in options which is giving me returns of 12% per annum for time horizon of 20 years, then I need to save and invest just Rs 10,350 each month to build an investment portfolio of Rs 1.0 crore.

? Only Saving With Investment
Per Month Saving Rs 41,700 Rs 10,350
Per Month Investment Rs 0 Rs 10,350
Interest 0% 12% per annum
Time Horizon 20 years 20 years
Investment Portfolio Rs 1.0 Crore Rs 1.0 Crore

For me the definition of financial independence is having Rs 1.0 crore in my bank FD by the time I am 50 years of age. Why I am so fascinated with this value of Rs 1.0 crore? If I put this Rs 1.0 Crore in FD for 10 years today, the interest I will earn interest income at rate of 7% per annum (after tax). Which means annual income amount of Rs 700,000 (Rs 58,000 per month).

But there is a very big problem with this assumption. This problem is a very big hindrance to my plan of retirement at 50 years of age. This problem is nothing but inflation. The worth of these Rs 58,000 today will not be the same after 20 years. If we discount Rs 58,000 with average inflation rate of 6% per annum over a period of 20 years the true value of Rs 58,000 will be not more than Rs 17,000 per month. So it means, if I intend to earn Rs 58,000 per month after 20 years, ?I need to save much more than Rs 1.0 crore. My actual savings in next 20 years should be Rs 3.4 crore and not only Rs 1.0 crore. This value of Rs 3.4 Crore can be reached in two ways, (1) either I increase my level of savings from Rs 10,350 per month by 3.5 times or (2) I find suitable investment options that will pay me returns higher that 12% per annum.

Conclusion

The challenge of going for premature retirement at 50 is immense. This is the reason I will suggest that the earlier you start the better it will be for you to achieve early retirement. Always remember to save sufficiently to fund your retirement plans. Right from the days when you get your first job in 20?s, make sure that you start funding your retirement fund. Achieving early retirement is tough but it become a piece of cake if one will start early.

More About Me

My Cute Parents

Here you can see my parents B.C. ?before children?

I am a mash up of my very different parents. My Mom and Dad have been together since my mom was 16. My Dad was a teacher at my Mom?s high school; keep in mind this was the ?70s, people. Despite their 17-year age gap they have never separated or divorced. They have almost nothing in common, except their love for me of course.

My Mom has an English-Irish background. Her side of the family is all about having fun. I grew up more with these people around. My Father?s side of the family lives on the east coast, making the bonding family experience more difficult. He has a very interesting background. He was born in Lithuania (a small Eastern European country that used to be part of the Soviet Union). He was born right in the middle of WWII and has memories of being shuffled through concentration camps before making it to Canada by the age of 4. His traditions are more about hard work and education. He finds no need for frivolous activities like having fun.

Having these two separate parenting styles would make you think I might have lost my mind a long time ago, which could be very possible. Instead, I feel that these two opposing views on life have made me into a well-rounded individual. I believe in working hard, and partying about as hard, ha-ha (I can ?ha-ha? in my own blog, right?) I make sure to get all my homework finished before I start doing anything remotely related to fun. Yet sometimes I end up doing not-so-fun things like cleaning to postpone having to do homework, which works out fairly well for my boyfriend, who does not enjoy the cleaning aspect of living on your own. But once all my work is finished for the day, I really enjoy being around my friends and family.

We really enjoy playing games, any kind of game really. I have an extensive collection of board games, as well as almost every video game system that?s come out. My Dad has a big love for electronics, so he?s always hooking me up with the latest and greatest. One of the favorite games more recently would have to be BUZZtrivia on the PS3. It?s an interactive trivia game that I usually win. Ha ha ha, well?? I?m a winner. I am just a smidge competitive; well if I?m going to keep it real I?m a lot competitive. It?s something I?ve actually had to work on over the years. I realized if I always win and act like I really care about the outcome of a game then no one wants to play with me.

Self Reflection: Learning from my mistakes

I?ve had some pretty big falling outs with really close friends regarding issues with my character. Some faults I have that I am constantly working on include:

Control

I have a tendency to try and tell people what to do all the time. It?s my way of caring; if I care enough about you to tell you what I think is best then that means, at least in my head, that I love you. This has not worked out so well for me to say the least.

Over Analyzing

My mind is always going a mile a minute. I have to stop my brain from going down certain ?thought paths? as I think of them. It takes a lot of willpower to control what you think about.

Always being ?right?

It?s so hard for me to think I?m wrong about something. It happens so rarely that when it does happen, I have a hard time accepting it. Crazy, right?

ASUS announces three budget-friendly laptops with touchscreens, the VivoBook Q200, S400 and S500 (update: eyes-on)

ASUS announces three budgetfriendly laptops with touchscreens, the VivoBook Q200, S400 and S500 update eyeson

Remember when Ultrabook prices dropped to around $700 and everyone cheered? Well, get ready for some one-upping: here at a New York City press event, ASUS just announced a line of lightweight, touchscreen laptops, and let's just say the prices are pretty aggressive. The new family, which will carry the name VivoBook, includes 11-, 14- and 15-inch models, with the 11.6-inch Q200 (aka the X202) starting at $499 with a Core i3 processor. The 14-inch S400, meanwhile, will start at $599, while the 15-inch S500 will go for $649 and up. Across the board, there will be configurations with Core i5 and i7 processors, but again, i3 is the starting spec here. As you can see in the photo above, the design isn't all that different from the current-gen Zenbook Prime family, though they lack some of that line's higher-end features -- namely, 1080p screens and solid-state storage. ASUS so far hasn't said when these laptops will ship here in the US, but we'll be sure to follow up with more specifics as we learn them.

Mat Smith contributed to this report.

The Spammer

The Spammer

I Hate SPAM

I am one of those people who absolutely detest SPAM. Spammers are unscrupulous, dishonest people too dumb to use proper Internet Marketing techniques. For me, annoyance turned to disgust when a genealogy forum I created became inundated daily with spammers, including porn. Every day, I removed the spam only to have it show up the next day. Finally, I tracked it down to a company called SEO Profiler who spread their client?s garbage wherever they could over the internet. I had to threaten them with a lawsuit before they would stop.

The laws that finally came into effect regarding spamming saw a rise in the hijacking of someone?s email address so that they could use that email address and not be subject to the law. Many of us have had to change our email address due to this.

How do spammers get our email address?

There are email address spiders that search the web and harvest a list of victim's email addresses that they find in various places. Another method is to send out ?tribute? and ?inspirational? emails. ?If you respect our troops?, ?if you love Jesus?, ?if you are my friend?, ?if you hate bullies?, etc., send this on or send it back to me to show you care.

How to prevent your email address being hijacked

I know that pretty well every one of you have friends or loved ones that are simply not very internet savvy. If you send some of these folks jokes or cool things to watch, there is a good chance that they will forward your email to others. That is fine but they often simply click on the forward and send it on to their friends, leaving your email address showing. It is just a matter of time before your email will become hijacked and thousands of people will be receiving spam emails, supposedly from you.

I try my best to prevent this in these ways.

First, I go over the email I intend to forward, making sure that any email address showing is deleted.

Secondly, I use BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) method to select recipients. That creates a single address of undisclosedrecipients@........com instead of individual personal email addresses. There is nothing to harvest.

Lastly, I put the following as an automatic signature on each email.

Thank you for deleting my email address & personal history before you forward it.

Thank you for using BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) instead of "To" and "CC" when sending group e-mails. This helps prevent SPAM & hackers.

Example of a real Spammer

I received a SPAM this email morning. The creep used my friend's email address to disseminate it and it was just a single link to a "Raspberry Drops" SPAM web site. The spammer had used a copy of the Fox News website to try to fool people into thinking they had published the article. This incredibly intelligent person left the O out of the web address to pretend it is from Fox. When you go down the page and try to leave a comment, of course, it does not work and more than the raspberry drops would. Also, each of the links at the top go to a "buy my raspberry crap" page.

Not long ago, I switched to Gmail and found it to be very good at detecting and preventing SPAM. If a SPAM email does get through, click on the ?mark as SPAM? and everyone else on Gmail will be protected in the future from this same email.

There is a never ending list of trolls, thieves and unscrupulous people out there on the web. So, protect yourself and others as much as you can.

First micro-structure atlas of human brain completed

ScienceDaily (Oct. 19, 2012) ? A European team of scientists has built the first atlas of white-matter microstructure in the human brain. The project's final results have the potential to change the face of neuroscience and medicine over the coming decade.

The work relied on groundbreaking MRI technology and was funded by the EU's future and emerging technologies program with a grant of 2.4 million Euros. The participants of the project, called CONNECT, were drawn from leading research centers in countries across Europe including Israel, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Denmark, Switzerland and Italy.

The project investigators met October 19 in Paris, after 3 years of research, to announce the conclusion of the project and present a report of their findings.

The new atlas combines three-dimensional images from the MRI scans of 100 brains of volunteers. To achieve this, CONNECT developed advanced MRI methods providing unprecedented detail and accuracy.

Professor Daniel Alexander, a CONNECT steering committee member from the UCL Department of Computer Science said: "The UCL team use the latest computer modelling algorithms and hardware to invent new imaging techniques. The techniques we devised were key to realising the new CONNECT brain atlas."

"The imaging techniques reveal new information about brain structure that help us understand how low-level cellular architecture relate to high-level thought processes."

Currently, biomedical research teams around the world studying brain science rely on a brain atlas produced by painstaking and destructive histological methods on the brains of a few individuals who donated their bodies to science.

The new atlas simulates the impossible process of painstakingly examining every mm2 of brain tissue (of which there are around 100 million per brain) with a microscope, while leaving the brain in tact.

The key novelty in the atlas is the mapping of microscopic features (such as average cell size and packing density) within the white matter, which contains the neuronal fibers that transmit information around the living brain. The results of the project, obtained through advanced image processing techniques, provide new depth and accuracy in our understanding of the human brain in health and disease.

The atlas describes the brain's microstructure in standardized space, which enables non-expert users, such as physicians or medical researchers, to exploit the wealth of knowledge it contains. The atlas contains a variety of new images that represent different microscopic tissue characteristics, such as the fiber diameter and fiber density across the brain, all estimated using MRI. These images will serve as the reference standard of future brain studies in both medicine and basic neuroscience.

The project will dramatically facilitate and promote future research into white matter structure and function. Historically in neuroscience, the vast majority of research effort has been invested in understanding and studying gray matter and neurons, while white matter has received relatively little attention.

This owes largely to the lack of effective research tools to study white matter, even though it comprises about half the volume of the brain. The new MRI methods that were developed in CONNECT allow researchers, for the first time, to visualize the micro-structure of the living brain over the whole brain.

This opens new realms in our understanding of our most complex organ. In the future, the project members intend to use the technology they have developed to study the dynamics and time dependence of the micro-structure in white matter. For example they will search for a finger print or a trace that a cognitive task imprints on white matter microstructure encoding new experiences in the wiring of the brain.

Another future direction is to characterize and understand micro-structural changes caused by different neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's or schizophrenia, in order to develop better diagnostic procedures for these and other devastating conditions.

Presidential Debate News, Economics, etc. - TruthSeeker24's anti ...

The second televised Presidential debate in 2012 was more emotional. This was the greatest debate in televised Presidential history as George Will said. Both President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney stood at each other to talk about many domestic and foreign policy matters. Regardless of what we think about the 2 party system, the President stood up like a man to debunk many of the lies and deception presented by Mitt Romney. President Barack Obama easily and handily defeated Mitt Romney in the debate. Polls show it and people know it. Like in every debate, Mitt Romney told numerous lies and President Barack Obama still believed in the war mongering rhetoric of neo-imperialism. Romney said that he wants to get the Pell Grants growing, but the Ryan budget will cut Pell Grants. Romney claimed that his plan will create 12 million new jobs in four years and rise take home pay. The Washington Post?s in house fact checker said that the math doesn?t add up to that claim. Romney claim that now, oil production is down 14 percent on federal land and gas production is down 9 percent. That?s a lie. Overall, oil production is up 10.6 percent from 2008 to 2011 (from 566 million barrels in 2008 to 626 million barrels in 2011). In the current administration, there are 241 million more barrels of oil produced form public land than in the last 3 years of the Bush administration. Mitt Romney (whose advisors are neo-conservatives or war mongers) refuses to support a moderate Paycheck Fairness Act, which will give women the right to sue for equal pay. Mitt Romney opposes the stimulus when a centrist stimulus now has created ca. 3 million jobs by that stimulus alone. Romney lied and said that the President engaged in an apology tour. These are just a few of the lies he shown and the President refuted him on these issues. On economics, both men promoted solutions within the system. They try to present themselves as representatives of the common man. Yet, they will not go into extreme populism (or a radical redistribution of economic and political power) for fear of losing votes from certain constituencies. Each talked about the middle class, but the poor never received a mention. It?s seems like the concerns of the poor have been ignored by numerous debates in the Presidential arena for years. Reactionaries like Alex Jones and crew will talk about threats to assassinate Romney (which I don?t agree with and I think that?s sick. Regardless of who is President in November, a real person doesn?t threaten assassination about people). On the other hand, Alex Jones? crew ignore the record death threats against the current President Barack Obama. You will notice that Alex Jones and crew ignore the shot fired in a Obama campaign center in Colorado or the people arrested for trying to assassinate the President in real life (beyond Twitter). They use agitation about riots and reactionary rhetoric as a means to promote division (and try to intimidate people into following the old policies of pro-corporate interests including laissez faire capitalism). You will notice that they will not support union rights, progressive human freedoms, and they ignore how Austrian economics is supported by the establishment (Rockefeller funded Mises for years). Alex Jones and crew ally with the vicious reactionaries and Ron Paul (whose son supports the establishment?s ally Mitt Romney. Alex Jones is supportive of the disinformationist group of the John Birch Society. The JBS slandered the late President John F. Kennedy and civil rights heroes). Also, these liars (some are in the alternative media crowd) have slandered the brother Trayvon Martin too. Now, the reality is that the 2 party system has supported drastic cuts to social programs that millions of human beings depend. To build up our economy, we have to address poverty and unemployment via a national program of employment & a real war on poverty. Both men debated on immigration and the Dream Act. We don?t need attacks on immigrants, the opening up of public for energy exploitation, more corporate tax cuts, wars abroad, the privatization of all of public education, and austerity (which some in both parties recommend for us). Romney made the lie that single parent households are responsible for school shootings. The President won the debate, but I was shocked that he said that free enterprise is the greatest engine of prosperity the world?s ever known. That?s the same economic system that put my and the brother President?s ancestors in chains. That?s the same system that ruin nations the world over. It isn?t it. The foreign policy agenda of both the President and Mitt Romney are nearly identical (which involves militarism). I still believe that the President is wrong on promoting anti-civil liberty laws, an extreme foreign policy, and gradual cuts to our social safety net. Both men were looking like that they want to fight each other via their body language. Candy Crowley was an excellent moderator in handling time limits and keeping the debate in order. She stood her ground and spoke her mind. The President should be treated as a man not a God (like many brainwashed Democrats act like).?Both the President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney?talked about women issues and foreign policy matters that dealt with the attack in Benghazi, Libya. Brothers like Tavis Smiley and Cornell West have been at the forefront in putting the feet to the fire of the President in great terms. They aren?t perfect, but I have more respect for them than a neo-con or a person unconditionally supporting the President no matter what. It?s just that on some issues, Mitt Romney is much worse (he ignored that if you want to grow the economy, you need a national public job creating plan that addresses poverty and discrimination). Mitt Romney is wrong for constantly switching positions in a matter of not only years, but weeks (and his economic plan is sketchy with deceptive language of deductions). Overall, the President won the debate in an apparently strong?fashion. So, we have a choice. Regardless of who you vote for, make sure it is the right choice for you. Don?t let anyone prevent you from voting period. Protect your rights and others around you for real. In our generation, the reactionaries are making their comeback in trying to promote archaic, neo-feudalism economic philosophies. Now, it?s the time to fight back. Here are some facts on this issue. This liar Mitt Romney said that government doesn?t create jobs. Even federal investment has created jobs in education, energy production, technology, and other realms of human society. Now, here are some facts. The deficit is largely a product of tax cuts and wars not health care costs or the stimulus. Today, the budget shortfall is slowing in a deficit at 1.1 trillion dollars for 2012. America has historically low amounts of revenue from the corporate income tax. America has the second lowest effective corporate tax rate in the world. You see corporate profits rebound from 2008 to 2012. Today, we have a debt much higher as a percentage of GDP than the debt today. That debt was owned by taxpayers and many people brought savings bonds. The debt never made postwar America poorer and the debt didn?t prevent the postwar generation to have the biggest rise in incomes and living standards in America?s history. Foreign nations have large claims on American resources, but that?s matched by 89 cents? worth of U.S. claims on foreigners. Foreigners usually put their U.S. investments into safe, low yield assets, so America earns more from its assets abroad than it pays to foreign investors. Debts aren?t harmless, but paranoia about the debt is harmful. That is why stable, modestly higher taxes on the super wealthy can be one step out of many in having better living standards. Debt is mostly money that we owe to ourselves. Since 1980, the vast majority of our debt was not financed by foreign borrowing at all. So, debt matters, but other things matters more like economic inequality and the necessity of some government spending to lower the unemployment rate. Real economic recovery is influenced by the excess of household debt. That is why some economists want the government to spend money and the private sector to repair its balance sheets (along with debt relief for homeowners as a means to improve job opportunities). When you have a recession, massive austerity will be heavily damaging to our economy. You need spending & specific investments (along with a real war on poverty to defeat income inequality, and help the poor) to get out of the slump. The reason is that austerity will cut resources, income, and cut especially necessary resources that can aid the poor. When you have a massive economic boom (which we don?t have now), then it?s time to have more targeted actions to handle the debt and deficit. Even Iceland broke all of the Austrian economic rules and they have a potent economic situation. Iceland rejected the debts given unto them by certain bankers. They arrested and convicted the bankers committing crimes and they negated the fraudulent mortgage debt (or Iceland forgave the mortgage debt). Economic genocide has been the goal of the establishment. The wider issues are ignored by many in Washington, D.C. Our economic system has been damaged by international situations of an over reliance of petroleum, political corruption, fraud, and the evil war on terror. Our economic crisis mostly was created because there was financial manipulation and institutionalized fraud. The bank bailouts were wrong since it transfer wealth to Wall Street banks without a massive change in the system. This increased public debt. It?s not a secret our enemy wants to loot taxpayer funds and destroy of state social programs as a means to promote an archaic economic philosophy. Our economic crisis is beyond just American shores. It?s an international system that desires to maintain national security and strategic objectives. US/NATO military engine promotes this slick neo-imperialism. Today, we have the borderline fascist Tea Party types and the President who sometimes appeases to the political establishment as a means to not lose votes. Yet, the corporate elite is not criticized by the mainstream media at all. The radicals and the reactionaries want to get rid of the major systems of the New Deal and Great Society programs. Wars, bailouts, and tax cuts for the rich aren?t right to harbor real economic growth. Even Webster Tarpley is rather to say that if the social safety net is radically eliminated (with health care, Social Security, etc.), then people will be exterminated. The wild thing is that the 1 percent has record profits. Suffering under the guise of sacrifice is austerity. Washington?s Blog did an excellent job in exposing how the attack on Hiroshima was unnecessary and evil. Military experts, scientists, and other experts back then even expressed reservations about dropping nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in order for WWII to end. Back in 1946, there was the U.S. Strategic Bombing Survey group (which was assigned by President Truman) told the public that Japan would have surrendered even if the atomic bombs had not been dropped. This surrender could have occurred before December 31, 1945 according to the July 1946 report. People already know that Dwight D. Eisenhower (who was the Supreme Commander of all Allied Forces. He handle a lot of the American military policies that dealt with the European theater of WWII) disagreed with atomic weapons being bombed in Japanese soil. Dwight said these words on November 11, 1963. The Japanese were about to surrender. Now, the attacks targeted mostly civilian locations not major military installations. Also, the loss of life and the generational genetic harm to the Japanese human beings was abhorrent. U.S. Admiral William Leahy said that the bombing of massive women and children was unethical and a throwback to the barbarians of the Dark Ages. General Douglas MacArthur disagreed with the atomic bombing. The reason was that there was no military justification for it and the Japanese was willing to surrender (as long as the Emperor would remain, which later occurred after the 2 bombings came about). To his credit, MacArthur was appalled by the Potsdam declaration in July of wanting Japan to surrender unconditionally or suffer utter destruction. The nuclear weapons were used in civilian populations and Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Navy Lewis Strauss proposed to Secretary of the Navy James Forrestal for a non-lethal demonstration of atomic weapons (in forest). This proposal was wrong, but still better than the events itself. U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission historian J. Samuel Walker has studied the history of research on the decision to use nuclear weapons on Japan. In his conclusion he writes, ?The consensus among scholars is that the bomb was not needed to avoid an invasion of Japan and to end the war within a relatively short time. It is clear that alternatives to the bomb existed and that Truman and his advisors knew it.? President Truman allowed the bomb to be dropped, because he wanted to show the power of the U.S. against Soviet influence. The bomb droppings were the beginning of the Cold War since Truman accepted Churchill?s premise that the Soviets wanted to dominate the world under the flag of Communism. So, we know the truth in 2012. The truth is that WWII began and ended under controversial activities. It was a war that was filled with controversy.

In African cultural traditions, there are always unifying themes. Black people are the original peoples on Earth and the original values of the original peoples on Earth still remain. As a member of the indigenous peoples in human history, I do reject any attempt to destroy Nature intentionally. I believe in the concept of community,?and?I believe in cooperation. I?accept a common black heritage, I believe in natural law (or moral law from the Creator or God), and I believe in contributing my talents to the world. Now, throughout history in Africa, our ancestors always believe in assisting the family unit collectively. That means is that one family member needs assistance, the whole family works together in making sure that family member is back on their feet. Selfishness is omitted from our culture. We are concerned with the whole community without some selfish individualist lust for greed and wealth. We have empathy toward our fellow human beings. There is strong power in the black collective. That?s express throughout human history. That is why whenTanzania was under Nyerere using these communal tenets reduced infant mortality, raised the life expectancy rate, and increase school enrolment (plus lowered the adult literacy rate). Also, black people regularly believe in cooperation. One of the greatest parts of spirituality and pure common sense is the respect of Nature and the creations of the Earth. Once a person use wise treatment of Nature and creations, then blessings can flow about (and a humans? spiritual and moral attitude is enhanced). In natural law, all life is sacred and people have right to reproduce in passing their genes to future generations. Also, being single or being married is a blessing too. Children are always a blessing and an inheritance for our people indeed.

Google delivers 3Q letdown early, stock plummets

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- As far as unpleasant surprises go, Google hit Wall Street with a double whammy Thursday.

The Internet search leader that prides itself of organizing the world's information lost control of its own data when a contractor released its third-quarter earnings report more than three hours before the numbers were supposed to come out.

As if that was jarring enough, the numbers alarmed investors because the company's earnings and revenue fell well below analyst projections. The disappointment triggered an 8 percent drop in Google's stock price that erased about $20 billion in shareholder wealth.

Gasoline prices ? finally ? begin to slide

NEW YORK (AP) -- Gasoline prices have begun their seasonal slide.

Better late than never, drivers say.

The national average retail price has fallen for 10 straight days and is now $3.74 per gallon. It could mark the beginning of the usual autumn decrease that was delayed this year because of refinery problems and high oil prices.

___

Newsweek to cease print edition after 80 years

NEW YORK (AP) -- Newsweek will end its print publication after 80 years and shift to an all-digital format in early 2013.

Its last U.S. print edition will be the Dec. 31 issue. The paper version of Newsweek is the latest casualty of a changing world where readers get more of their information from websites, tablets and smartphones. It's also an environment in which advertisers are looking for less expensive alternatives online.

Newsweeklies have been in an especially tough spot at a time when people don't want to wait a week to read commentary and news digests of big stories, given a flood of instant content available online.

China shows signs economic recovery taking shape

BEIJING (AP) -- China's worst slump since the global financial crisis leveled out in the latest quarter and retail sales picked up in a sign an economic rebound is taking shape, adding to hopes for a global recovery.

The world's second-largest economy grew 7.4 percent from the year before in the three months ending in September, data showed Thursday. That was slower than the second quarter's 7.6 percent growth but the decline was much gentler than in earlier quarters. Economists also pointed to quarter-on-quarter growth of 2.2 percent, the biggest such gain in a year, as a sign of recovery.

US unemployment aid applications jump to 388,000

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Weekly applications for U.S. unemployment benefits jumped 46,000 last week to a seasonally adjusted 388,000, the highest in four months. The increase represents a rebound from the previous week's sharp drop. Both swings were largely due to technical factors.

The four-week average of applications, a less volatile measure, rose slightly to 365,500, the Labor Department said Thursday. That is still a level consistent with modest hiring.

Last week California reported a large drop in applications, pushing down the overall figure to the lowest since February 2008. This week it reported a significant increase. The gyrations occurred because it processed applications last week that were delayed from the previous week.

AP source: Obama was considered potential target

NEW YORK (AP) -- A Bangladeshi man snared in an FBI terror sting considered targeting President Barack Obama and the New York City Stock Exchange before settling on a car bomb attack on the Federal Reserve, just blocks from the World Trade Center site, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press on Thursday.

The official, who was not authorized to speak publicly about the investigation and talked to the AP on condition of anonymity, stressed that the suspect never got beyond the discussion stage in considering an attack on the president.

In a September meeting with an undercover agent posing as a fellow jihadist, Quazi Mohammad Rezwanul Ahsan Nafis explained he chose the Federal Reserve as his car bomb target "for operational reasons," according to a criminal complaint. Nafis also indicated he knew that choice would "cause a large number of civilian casualties, including women and children," the complaint said.

The bomb was phony, but authorities said that Nafis' admiration of Osama bin Laden and aspirations for martyrdom were not.

Microsoft profit falls ahead of Windows 8 launch

NEW YORK (AP) -- Microsoft Corp.'s net income fell 22 percent in the latest quarter as it deferred revenue from the sale of its upcoming Windows 8 operating system to PC makers ? and as PC sales in general took a dive.

The economic troubles in Europe also weighed on results, which missed Wall Street expectations.

The software company said Thursday that net income was $4.47 billion, or 53 cents per share, in the fiscal first quarter, which ended Sept. 30. That was down from $5.7 billion, or 68 cents per share, a year ago.

Analysts were on average expecting 56 cents per share, according to FactSet.

___

Measure of future economic activity up 0.6 percent

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A measure of U.S. economic activity designed to give signals about the future posted a solid gain in September, rebounding after a dip in August. The index is still signaling weak growth, however.

The Conference Board said Thursday that its index of leading indicators rose 0.6 percent in September after falling 0.4 percent in August and rising 0.4 percent in July. The previous months were revised down slightly.

The strength in September came from a big jump in applications for building permits, which the government reported Wednesday had climbed to a four-year high that month.

___

US rate on 30-year fixed mortgage near record low

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The average U.S. rate on a 30-year fixed mortgage has fallen to near the record low set earlier this month.

The rate on the most popular mortgage dipped to 3.37 percent from 3.39 last week, mortgage buyer Freddie Mac said Thursday. Two weeks ago, the rate reached 3.36 percent, its lowest level on records dating to 1971.

The average rate on the 15-year fixed mortgage, often used for refinancing, set a record low of 2.66 percent, down from last week's 2.7 percent.

___

Philadelphia Fed manufacturing index expands

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Manufacturing in the Philadelphia region expanded in October following five months of declines, a positive sign for a U.S. manufacturing sector which had been weakening for much of the year.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia reported Thursday that its index of regional manufacturing activity had a reading of 5.7 in October following a -1.9 reading in September. Any reading above zero indicates expansion.

Manufacturing, which helped lift the country out of recession, had been slowing since the spring, battered by slower domestic demand and a slowing global economy which was hurting exports.

Mercedes-Benz GL Named 2013 SUV of the ... - Automotive Discovery

Congratulations goes to the 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL for winning the First Place spot in Motor Trend?s 2013 SUV of the Year Award. This SUV met the rigorous testing and came out number one against the competition. This year?s competitors along with the Mercedes-Benz GL was the Acura RDX, Audi Allroad, Ford Escape, Honda CR-V, Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, Infiniti JX, Mazda CX-5, Nissan Pathfinder, Subaru XV Crosstek and its own sibling the Mercedes-Benz GLK.

Motor Trend has their own criteria for choosing what the best of the best is and the editors are the determining judges. What this means is that the other SUVs can still compete for ?SUV of the Year? through other venues. But Motor Trend seems to have dotted the I?s and crossed the T?s to come up with enough points to put the SUVs in competition with each other to figure out which one is going to bring you the most bang for the buck. Of course with the 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL, that?s a lot of bang!

Design advancement is one area that the judges rate that includes the exterior and interior material, innovative vehicle packaging and overall style. How the vehicle is engineered also comes into consideration for cost effective technology and which SUV offers the most engineering benefits for drivers. That includes performance and how well the designers, planners and engineers worked together to reach their intended goals for each vehicle in the competition.

Efficiency, safety and value are also held under a microscope not only to judge driver?s experience but total vehicle impact on the environment and how each SUV compares against each other as well as how each of them do on standalone testing. Clearly the 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL received first place for enough of each testing category to determine that it is worthy of being named Motor Trend?s 2013 SUV of the Year.

You can check out the video to hear more of how Motor Trend made their decision:

PFT: Samuel throws jab at ex-coach Reid

nfl_g_kennedy12_400Getty Images

Former Vikings defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy was outed last week as the original bounty whistleblower, but he claims that he never was in.In documents filed in federal court on Monday, the lawyer representing Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma spells out various details regarding Kennedy?s role, or lack thereof, in the bounty case.
In a sworn declaration, lawyer Peter Ginsberg lists several facts that Kennedy shared with Ginsberg.

First, Kennedy said he never discussed a supposed bounty program with anyone ? including NFL investigators or former Vikings coach Brad Childress.

Second, Kennedy said that, at halftime of the 2009 NFC title game, he screamed at his teammates:? ?These m*****f***?ers are killing our quarterback as if there?s money on it.? These m*****f***?ers are killing us and we better start playing some ******* football.?

Third, Kennedy said he didn?t have any reason to believe that the Saints had a bounty on former Vikings quarterback Brett Favre.

Fourth, Kennedy said he didn?t speak with former Saints defensive end Anthony Hargrove at any time before or after the game, contrary to a contention that Hargrove told Kennedy of the existence of the bounty on Favre.

Fifth, Kennedy said neither Hargrove nor anyone else told Kennedy that there was a ?bounty? on Favre.

Sixth, Kennedy said he never talked to Childress about the Saints having a bounty on Favre, contrary to the league contention that Kennedy told Childress about the bounty.

Seventh, Kennedy said the NFL never interviewed him, contrary to the NFL?s contentions.

Eighth, Kennedy said that NFL investigator Joe Hummel called Kennedy twice, but that Kennedy never talked to Hummel about the situation.

Ninth, Kennedy said he?s not aware of Hummel ever calling Kennedy?s lawyer.

Tenth, Kennedy said he?s not aware that any members of the Saints offered $10,000 or any amount of money as an incentive to injure Favre.

If it?s true, it?s powerful stuff.? Still, it?s odd that Kennedy didn?t provide a written statement of his own.? With Ginsberg acting as the funnel of Kennedy?s claims to the court, Ginsberg could come dangerously close to becoming a witness ? which would make it hard for him to continue being Vilma?s lawyer.

And if the NFL did indeed interview Kennedy, the evidence the league has been required to produce to the federal court in Louisiana surely would include at least some reference to Kennedy being interviewed, and regarding what he said.
